Matt Dozier

Where I live: I live in Sherwood with my wife, Jill, and two rescued dogs, Hudson and Harper. Our older daughter lives in Maumelle, and our younger daughter is in college.

Occupation: I am the president and chief executive officer of EAST (Environmental And Spatial Technologies) Initiative in Little Rock. EAST is an educational model that engages students in sophisticated service-learning projects that involve relevant teamwork and cutting-edge technology. The program is offered in many schools in Arkansas.

My favorite space: My reading room/study.

Why? It's my favorite space because it's all mine. I have my desk and computer, my books and my Civil War collection. Recently, I bought a chaise lounge, which has all the benefits of a recliner/ottoman in one beautifully engineered piece. A large window is nearby so I have great natural light. Ever since I memorized In a People House by Dr. Seuss when I was 5, I have been an avid reader. I try to take time to read every day, and this is where I do it.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Enlarge the room and add shelf space for more books. And I would have some form of time/space inhibitor that slowed down the rest of the universe so that I could spend more time here and not feel so guilty about the other things I'm not doing.
