Where I live: I live on the north side of Prairie Grove on 20 acres with my husband and my two little girls. We've lived there just right at a year. We've always really liked Prairie Grove as a small town, and it has really good schools. We wanted to have more land. We found this place with 20 acres, a house and a barn. It's a 1980s ranch-style house, and we bought the place from an older couple who built it. The house was exactly as it was when it was built in 1988. We had to gut the inside and remodel it when we moved in.

Occupation: Southeast office regional director for the National Center for Applied Technology. I've been with NCAT for about 10 years. I started out as an intern and worked my way up. I oversee our programs and activities in the southeastern United States. We focus on sustainable agriculture and sustainable energy projects.

My favorite space: Our garden.

Why? We have a large garden where we raise a lot of our food. We do a lot of canning. We can green beans and spaghetti sauce and put up corn. We have an amazing view overlooking this valley. From the garden, you have probably one of the best views on our property. We spend a lot of time out there.

If I could do one thing to improve this space I would: Make it maintenance-free.
