Fayetteville Man Died In Accident

FAYETTEVILLE -- Steve Chandler, 45, of Fayetteville was the man who died after being involved in a three-vehicle accident Thursday morning.

Chandler, who was southbound in a Chevrolet Colorado pickup on North Crossover Road, drifted and sideswiped a Honda Civic, driven by Jianwen Ren, 40, of Springdale, according to a news release from the Police Department.

Chandler lost control of his vehicle and it crossed the center line into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Dodge Ram pickup driven by William Burris, 48, of Fayetteville.

Chandler died at Washington Regional Medical Center.

Burris was treated for an ankle injury at the hospital and Ren was treated for minor injuries at the scene, Sgt. Craig Stout said.
