Cyclists are gearing up for some pedaling with the Big Dam Bridge 100 on Sept. 27

Next week

Rollin' on the River: Easter Seals Arkansas will be running, walking and otherwise romping during the annual Rollin' on the River event, Aug. 23 at the Clinton Presidential Center. The event includes a competitive 5K run starting at 7 a.m. and a 2K family fun walk at 8 a.m. Registration starts at 6:15 a.m. But it's not all about organized running. There's also a children's play area open 8:30-10:30 a.m. Registration is $25, $10 for children ages 2-12. Call (501) 227-3706 or visit eastersealsar.com.

Next month

Rollin' over the river: Serious cyclists are gearing up for some intense pedaling with the Big Dam Bridge 100 on Sept. 27 at La Harpe Boulevard and Chester Street. With distance options from 13 to 100 miles, there are rides for all ages and ability levels. Registration is $40 for all but the 13-mile fun ride ($25).
