Small paper works
The Arkansas Arts Council's traveling 2014 "Small Works on Paper" exhibition goes on display Friday in Gallery III, Fine Arts Building, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 2801 S. University Ave., Little Rock.
The exhibition, up through Sept. 26, includes works by central Arkansas artists Kathy Atwood, Melissa Bacon, Tony Baker, Lynn Bell, Matthew Castellano, Ike Garlington, Ted Grimmett, Lisa Kindrick, Alexa Pearce, Jennifer Rospert, Kasten Searles, George Wittenberg, Miranda Young, Carrie Waller, John Watson and Ben Krain. Mary Kennedy, chief executive officer of the Mid-America Arts Alliance, was the juror.
There will be a reception, 5-7 p.m. Aug. 26. Gallery hours of operation are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday and, after Labor Day, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday and 2-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. Call (501) 324-9767, email [email protected] or visit arkansasarts.org.
Singer/singer's son
Singer Bobby Brooks Wilson, who re-created the sound of R&B singer Jackie Wilson even before he knew he was Wilson's son, will perform songs from his recently released CD, It's About Time, at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday at the Pine Bluff Community Theatre, 207 W. Second Ave., Pine Bluff.

Louis Johnson, who has appeared on Showtime (where he has had a Comic of the Month Special), Comedy Central and A&E, headlines shows at 7:30 p.m. today ($7), 7:30 and 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday ($10) at the Loony Bin Comedy Club, Breckenridge Village Shopping Center, Interstate 430 and North Rodney Parham Road.
