NLR Woman's Club hosts tea to entice new members

Prospective members were invited to a tea at the North Little Rock Woman's Club on Monday. "We work hard, but we have a good time," explained Mary Alice Nease, the club's vice president. She and several other members spoke to potential members during the event at the group's Burns Park headquarters.

Club president Helen Greenfield welcomed the attendees and spoke about the group's two fundraisers, the Carousel Ball and the Fall Follies, as well as projects the club participates in, including donating dictionaries to all third-graders in the North Little Rock School District. She said all the money the club raises goes toward helping the community.

Past president Diana Glaze noted that the group has a little something for everybody and that's what she loves about the club.

Members and guests enjoyed finger sandwiches, punch and an array of desserts while sitting at tables decorated with teapots and small floral arrangements.

The club, which belongs to the General Federation of Women's Clubs, was founded in 1958 and currently has 56 members. Those interested in membership can call membership chairmen Lorene Trask at (501) 834-6203 or Mildred Prentiss at (501) 626-8008.
