SPRINGDALE -- Former Shiloh Christian standout Andrew Daniels will continue his basketball career after signing a letter of intent to play at South Georgia State College.

Daniels, who averaged 17 points, four rebounds and five assists as the starting point guard for the Saints, signed with the Georgia junior college in June.

"We are excited to get Andrew here," Hawks coach Cory Baldwin said. "We think he is a perfect fit on the court and off. On the court he is a guard who can do multiple things, play multiple positions, and put the ball in basket. Off the court he is a great student who already has college credits due to being so far ahead academically in high school."

"So even though the ride from Arkansas to South Georgia is a long one, we know it is going to be beneficial for him and us."

Daniels (6-foot-1) battled back from a series of injuries that derailed his junior season, to have a solid senior season for the Saints.

South Georgia State was 17-13 last season and competes in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Conference. In 2011, the Hawks were the GCAC regional champions and advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament.
