Bentonville Library Offers Free Music Streaming

BENTONVILLE -- Public library patrons can stream any music in the Freegal Music catalog for up to three hours each day, commercial free.

Users can create playlists and add songs or entire albums, according to a news release. The feature became available Aug. 1.

Freegal users will still be able to download three songs each week for free. Users can choose from more than 7 million songs from more than 28,000 labels.

"The new Freegal Music streaming feature expands our patrons' weekly music experience to a daily experience," said Hadi Dudley, library director. "It will be a great way for users to select and download their favorite songs. It also gives them the freedom to sample new titles or artists that may be of interest without the commitment of downloading those songs."

Freegal Music is available for computers, tablets and smartphones. The Freegal Music Mobile application is free in the Apple App Store and in Google Play. Library patrons can access all these features using their library card number and PIN.
