Grisham's Earthly Focus

Responding to the Rev. Lowell Grisham's commentary (Bible Has Cures For Economic Imbalances, July 6) is difficult. It appears his god is the government. That he references biblical passages for his justification is puzzling to me.

My God created the heavens and earth and all therein. He is the alpha, the omega, the beginning and end, the Lord of lords and King of kings -- the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

The Bible is the divine inspired word of God. It's available to the world. It's His essence and given to us as a guide to glorify His name and to light our pathway into eternal life in heaven. It is not a guide to the economic imbalances of this world.

God commands believers to give freely from the heart. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45)

Our judiciary mocks God when it makes judgments supported by the ruler of this world, Satan and man-made laws. Some judges have declared man's law superior to God's law.

Since secular humanists have taken over the majority of the judiciary in America, God's law has been cast aside, criminalized and diminished in our society as is Christ our Lord, redeemer and savior.

Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away." (Matthew 24:35)

Our Nation was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. Our judiciary has since chosen to turn from God and follow the ruler of this world.

The reverend's imbalances flow from man's secular humanism and self-righteousness, not God's divine righteousness.

The covetness implied by Rev. Grisham is of this world, not of God.
