Pulaski Tech Foundation scramble tees off Aug. 25

The Pulaski Technical College Foundation will host its 7th annual golf tournament on Aug. 25 at the Country Club of Arkansas in Maumelle.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit Pulaski Tech students enrolled in Fine Arts and Humanities programs. The Division of Fine Arts and Humanities is the largest of the college’s academic divisions.

The college will open The Center for Humanities and Arts, which includes a 500-seat theater, in fall 2015.

The golf tournament was first held in 2008 in honor of the late P.G. Bradford, who worked at the college.

The format of the golf tournament is a four-person scramble with 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. shotgun starts. Team entry is $400 or $100 per person. Mulligans can be purchased before the tournament for $10 each. Prizes will be offered at individual holes throughout the day, including a 2014 Volkswagen, $10,000 and various other prizes. First-, second-, and third-place teams will receive prizes.

The golf tournaments feature a helicopter ball drop, and balls can be purchased for $10. The person whose ball lands closest to the hole wins $1,000. Local restaurants will provide participants with breakfast and lunch.

Those interested can register by contacting Bret Graves, the college’s events and volunteer manager, at (501) 812-2771 or at www.pulaskitechevents.com.
