Bus Transit Will Reduce NorthWest Arkansas Community College Route Service Aug. 4-22

Ozark Regional Transit will reduce bus service Aug. 4-22 until most classes resume at NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville.

The transit staff plans to reduce service for Route 490 Express, commonly referred to as the NWACC route, according to a news release Friday. The reduced service reflects classroom schedules at the college, said Jeff Hatley, transit spokesman.

Hatley said there's less need right now. The nonprofit organization wants to be good stewards of taxpayer money, he said.

Regular service will resume Aug. 25, when most classes start.

The transit system has four fixed routes in Fayetteville and Springdale, two in Rogers and one in Bentonville. The transit system also has two express routes -- an hourly service between Fayetteville and Bentonville and an 90-minute express route between West Fork and Lincoln.
