2 killed in wrecks on Arkansas roads

Two drivers died in separate car wrecks Thursday after losing control of their vehicles, according to Arkansas State Police.

The first accident happened at 9:45 a.m. Thursday near Lake Ouachita State Park in Garland County. Selina Tidwell, 33, of Hot Springs, was driving west on Glazypeau Road when she came to a curve in the road and lost control, state police said. The Nissan Pathfinder overturned, and Tidwell was ejected.

Tidwell and a passenger, 30-year-old Thomas Locke of Hot Springs, were taken to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, where Tidwell died. Locke's condition was unavailable Friday.

A Huttig man died in a similar accident Thursday night in Union County.

Marcus Thompson, 42, was driving north on Arkansas 129 at 11:25 p.m. when he lost control at a curve. His Chevy pickup left the road and overturned, according to state police. Thompson died at the scene.

It was raining and roads were wet when both accidents occurred.
