Bentonville Library To Hold Free Comic Book Day

BENTONVILLE -- The public library will hold a Free Comic Book Day on Saturday.

Events will start at 11 a.m. in the Walmart Community Room, according to a news release.

The day will begin with "Comicology: History of the Comic Book- With Pictures!" with Aaron Jones.

Jones is the interpretation manager for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. He will share how the comic has evolved through history.

The library will give away comic books at noon. Supplies are limited and given on a first-come basis. Comic book collectors and enthusiasts can meet up to discuss and swap comic books at 1 p.m. in the Walmart Room.

Young super heroes and super villains can compete in the kids costume contest. The contest is open anyone 12 or younger. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. in the children's department. The contest will start at 1:30 p.m.

A story time and craft will be in the children's department at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Children who don't bring their own cape can receive one.

All ages are invited to draw comics in chalk on the library sidewalk at 3 p.m.

Attendees can enter the raffle in the Rotary Conference Room. Winners will be announced between 3:30 and 4 p.m.
