Springdale Street Construction Leads to Traffic Interruptions

SPRINGDALE -- The intersection of 48th Street and Don Tyson Parkway and the inside lanes of Huntsville Avenue near Hinshaw Street will be closed this week because of construction.

Both inside lanes of Huntsville will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday for repair of the pavement, according to a news release from the Springdale Public Works Department. The closings will run 500 feet east and west of the intersection of Huntsville and Hinshaw Street.

Construction on the Don Tyson Parkway interchange on Interstate 49 will result in closing of the intersection of the parkway and 48th Street to through traffic. The closing will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday and run through 10 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Springdale Engineering Department.

Northbound traffic on 48th Street will be directed east on the parkway and can use 40th Street, Carley Road or Johnson Road to continue north, according to the release. Southbound traffic on 48th will turn on Watkins Avenue and can use 56th Street to the west or 40th to the east.

Westbound traffic on the parkway can turn on Carley Road to go south or 40th Street to go north.
