GOLF Razorbacks finish tied for sixth

Sebastian Cappelen shot a 64, Taylor Moore a 65 and the Arkansas Razorbacks finished tied for sixth at the SEC Championship at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simon’s Island, Ga.

Cappelen had a bogey-free round which was a career low and equaled the best round in the SEC Tournament since Bud Still shot a 65 in 1995 which put him tied for 13th with teammate Nicholas Echavarria at 208. Moore’s 65 was also a career low and he had eight birdies to finish tied for 26th at 211.

As a team, Arkansas shot a 280 in the third round to finish with an 842. Alabama won the tournament and the Crimson Tide’s Bobby Wyatt earned medalist honors.

Arkansas drops series finale at Mississippi State

Mississippi State scored six runs in the fourth inning off Arkansas’ Kelly Young to break open a scoreless game and won 8-0 Sunday in Starkville, Miss.

Arkansas (27-24, 5-16 SEC) hosts Oklahoma on Wednesday and Florida from Friday through Sunday.
