Arrests Follow Springdale Stabbing

— Two people were arrested Sunday after a man was stabbed in the back.

George Vasquez, 18, was arrested in connection with felony second degree battery. A 15-year-old was arrested in connection with misdemeanor third degree battery and obstruction of governmental operations.

The arrests came after police received a report at 3:44 p.m. Sunday of a fight near the intersection of Emma Avenue and Bluestem Street. A 31-year-old man was taken to Northwest Medical Center-Springdale by ambulance after he was found bleeding from a stab wound in the back, according to a police news release.

The man was in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries on Sunday, according to police.

Vasquez was scheduled to be moved to the Washington County Detention Center on Monday to await a bond hearing.
