David Levy hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the tenth inning to help Georgia State (21-23, 7-13 Sun Belt Conference) hand Arkansas State (24-19, 13-7) a loss Saturday at the GSU Baseball Complex in Decatur, Ga.

Stuart Levy finished 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Dustin Jones also had two hits and drove in a run.

UALR 7, W. KENTUCKY 5

Justin Steelmon went 2 for 2 with two walks and began a game-winning rally in the top of the ninth inning to lift UALR (18-23, 6-14) to a victory over Western Kentucky (22-21, 10-10) at Nick Denes Field in Bowling Green, Ky.

Steelmon led off the top of the ninth with a double to right center field and scored on Bryson Thionnet’s RBI single for a 6-5 lead.

Thionnet scored on a wild pitch by Western Kentucky’s Ian Tompkins to make it 7-5.

Central Arkansas (22-19, 10-11 Southland Conference) was swept in a doubleheader by Northwestern (La.)State (25-19, 13-8) at Brown-Stroud Field in Natchitoches, La.

The Bears lost 5-4 in 11 innings in the first game and fell 6-3 in the second game. Edwin Gomez’ RBI single in the 11th inning gave the Demons the victory.

In the second game, the Demons broke open a 3-3 game in the eighth inning, score three runs for a 6-3 lead.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s rally in the ninth inning fell short and Pittsburgh held on to beat the Golden Lions in the first game of a doubleheader at Taylor Field in Pine Bluff.

The Panthers of the Atlantic Coast Conference led 3-0 entering the bottom of the ninth. But UAPB scored two runs in the inning as Andre Davis scored when Mitch Bruckshaw reached on a fielding error by Pittsburgh second baseman Matt Johnson. Jerimiah Figueroa’s sacrifice fly pulled UAPB to within 3-2. Jordan Haas reached on a fielder’s choice and Mike Wieland walked, but Pittsburgh closer Jon Danielczyk retired Isias Alcantar on a ground out to end the game.

Matt Wotherspoon (5-5) allowed 4 hits and struck out 7 in 7 innings for the Panthers.
