Three Arrested In Springdale In Connection With Meth Charges

SPRINGDALE -- The arrest of three people Friday led to the seizure of more than 5 pounds of methamphetamine, money and vehicles, authorities said.

Andres Diaz, 49, Jonni Diaz, 46, and Javier Duran-Moreno, 46, were arrested Friday after a two-month investigation, according to a Springdale police news release.

Springdale police, Arkansas State Police and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency participated in the investigation where 5.5 pounds of methamphetamine, $98,853, a 2002 Nissan Frontier pickup and a 2007 H3 Hummer were seized.

The three were living at 2005B Pin Oak Drive in Springdale when arrested, but moved recently from Barstow, Calif., to further their methamphetamine distribution operation, according to police.

Andres and Jonni Diaz were arrested in connection with federal drug trafficking and were in the Washington County Detention Center on Wednesday with no bond.

Duran-Moreno was arrested in connection with felony possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with the purpose of delivery and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was in the Washington County Detention Center on Wednesday in lieu of $15,000 bond.
