"Girl Rising" Documentary To Be Shown At Fayetteville High School

FAYETTEVILLE -- The documentary film, "Girl Rising," that describes a movement supporting girls education around the world will be shown at 6:30 p.m. today at Fayetteville High School's Performing Arts Center.

The event is sponsored by the Girls Rock group at Ramay Junior High School. Admission is free.

The feature film is narrated by Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez and others who tell the stories of nine girls. The film focuses on how educating girls can change the world and break the cycle of poverty, according to a news release about the film.
