Fayetteville Sustainable Landscape Competition Announced

FAYETTEVILLE -- The Urban Forestry Advisory Board is taking nominations for the most sustainable landscapes in town.

Residential and commercial winners will be announced June 11, according to a news release. Winners will receive a yard sign to display.

Judges will evaluate submissions based on design and aesthetics; preservation of natural environment; environmental best management practices; and attraction to wildlife.

Applicants must be able to give judges a five- to 10-minute tour of their property between May 8 and May 31.

Last year's winners were Terry and Ken Eastin, 858 N. Jackson Ave., and the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks, 1100 N. College Ave.
