Springdale High School clear after bomb threat discovered

Springdale police responded to Springdale High School and parents flooded S. Pleasant Street this morning after school staff discovered a bomb threat.

The threat was written in graffiti on an outside wall between the office and gymnasium. The graffiti said "Bomb is going to blow."

Staff found the threat before school started, said Rick Schaeffer, district communications director. Students were told to wait in Jarrell Williams Bulldog Stadium until the building was cleared by police and a bomb sniffing dog from the Bentonville Bomb Squad.

"As soon as students started arriving, they funneled into the stadium," he said.

Officials announced that the campus was clear at 10:03 a.m., and students were told to go to their third period classes.
