ROGERS -- A man was arrested Sunday in connection with a child pornography case investigated last year, according to a probable cause affidavit released Tuesday by the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

Guillermo Rosales, 33, of 2503 W. Sumac St. was arrested in connection with distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicitly conduct involving a child, a felony, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The arrest warrant was served to Rosales on Sunday. He bonded out of the Benton County Jail on Sunday with a $2,000 surety bond. His next court appearance is May 27, Keshia Guyll, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman, said Tuesday.

The investigation started in 2013, according to the affidavit. Detective Travis Monson of the Springdale Police Department, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, used a file peer-to-peer network that connects computers and downloaded a video from a computer with an Internet identifier address belonging to Rosales.

In April 2013, the evidence was transferred for further investigation. A search of Rosales' home resulted in seizure of two cellphones, a laptop computer and a micro-memory card. Several child pornography videos involving children ages 12 through 15 were found.

The length of time that passed from the investigation to Rosales' arrest isn't unusual, Guyll said. Criminal electronic forensics can take a long time, she said.
