BENTONVILLE -- A grievance hearing for Sarah Wilson, fired from her job as Benton County comptroller April 8, has been rescheduled and will be held at 6 p.m. May 15.

The hearing had been set for today but was rescheduled at the request of Wilson's attorney, Jeff Mitchell of Fayetteville.

Wilson seeks reinstatement under the county's grievance policy. County Judge Bob Clinard said in a letter to Wilson outlining his decision he lost confidence in her judgment.

County policy calls for a grievance hearing to be scheduled within 14 working days after an employee files a formal request, which Wilson did April 11.

County officials said in a letter to Mitchell that today was the only date during the 14-day window all of the people the county needed to attend could be present. Mitchell said he had a conflict with the date and asked for the postponement. The county agreed to the request with the stipulation, if Wilson's firing is upheld, her pay will cease as of today.
