5.5 pounds of meth and $98,853 seized in Springdale bust

Meth and cash seized in a Springdale drug bust.

Police arrested three people and seized 5.5 pounds of meth and $98,853 in cash in a Springdale drug bust, according to a news release from the Springdale Police Department.

The arrests were the result of a two-month investigation that included the Springdale Police Department, the Arkansas State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Andres Diaz, Jonni Diaz and Javier Duran-Moreno were arrested and face charges in connection with the drug operation, according to the news release, which does not name specific charges.

The three had recently moved to Springdale from Barstow, Calif. to expand their methamphetamine distribution, and were living at 2205 B Pin Oak Drive, according to the news release. Authorities also seized 2002 Nissan Frontier pickup and a 2007 H3 Hummer.

Andres and Jonni Diaz were charged in federal court, while Duran-Moreno was charged in state court, according to the news release.
