Conway boy killed by train identified

CONWAY - Police have identified a teenager who was struck and killed by a train while he was walking along the railroad tracks Sunday.

Sean Studler, 17, of Conway was reportedly wearing headphones when he was struck Sunday afternoon, Conway police spokesman LaTresha Woodruff said Monday.

Employees of Union Pacific Corp. said they started blowing the train’s whistle when they noticed someone walking along the tracks, but the person never turned around, Woodruff said in an email.

“They then started applying the brakes to get the train stopped” but could not stop it in time, she said. “The investigation is ongoing,” she said Monday.
