FLORIDA 10, GEORGIA 3

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida scored three runs in the first inning and four in the second to finish a weekend sweep of Georgia on Sunday at McKethan Stadium. The SEC East-leading Gators extended their winning streak to six games while sweeping the Bulldogs for the first time since 2010.

Nelson Ward put the Bulldogs (21-18, 10-1) up 1-0 with a two-out RBI single in the first before the Gators (27-13, 12-6) answered with three runs in the bottom of the first.

Harrison Bader hit a two-run triple, then Taylor Gushue walked, and Braden Mattson hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1.

In the second, Florida loaded the bases before Ross Ripple hit an RBI single, Taylor Gushue hit a two-run single and Peter Alonso hit a sacrifice fly to make it 7-1.

Danny Young (5-0) got the victory for Florida after holding Georgia to 2 runs on 8 hits and striking out 4 in 5 innings pitched.

TEXAS A&M 14, KENTUCKY 2

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and rode one of Grayson Long’s top performances of the season to a victory over Kentucky on Sunday at Blue Bell Park.

Long (5-1) gave up 2 runs on 8 hits and struck out 8 in 8 innings for Texas A&M (24-17, 8-10), while Nick Banks hit a home run and went 3 for 5, RyneBirk also homered and drove in 5 runs and the Aggies had 16 hits.

A.J. Reed put Kentucky (26-14, 9-9) up 1-0 in the first with a home run.

SOUTH CAROLINA 4, AUBURN 3

AUBURN, Ala. - Gene Cone’s oneout sacrifice fly in the eighth inning broke a 3-3 tie and junior right-hander Joel Seddon pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief to earn his second victory of the season on Sunday.

Kyle Martin and Grayson Greiner led off the eighth with singles and moved up on a bunt by Patrick Harrington. Cone then delivered a sacrifice fly that scored Martin for the eventual winning run for the Gamecocks (30-10, 10-8), who have won 14 consecutive series with Auburn.

Greiner went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and Martin went 2 for 4 with a run scored.

Blake Austin was 3 for 5, while Damek Tomscha went 2 for 3 and Keegan Thompson went 2 for 4 to lead Auburn (22-19, 7-11).

TENNESSEE 10, ALABAMA 9

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Vincent Jackson’s line drive in the ninth inning scored Nick Senzel and gave Tennessee a victory Sunday in which it rallied from six runs down at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Jackson, who entered the game as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning, finished 2-for-2 on the day with two RBI including the game winner for Tennessee (25-13, 7-11), which scored six runs in the eighth to tie the game at 8-8.

Alabama (28-12, 12-6) retook the lead in the top of the ninth with a home run by Ben Moore, and scored on Nick Senzel’s double to tie it at 9-9, then Jackson followed with the game-winner to score Senzel.

Lee Andrew gave up the lead on Moore’s home run in the ninth, but earned the victory to improve to 4-1.

MISSISSIPPI STATE 9, MISSOURI 7

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Reid Humphreys’ two-run single in the top of the 11th served as the game-winner for Mississippi State on Sunday at Taylor Stadium.

The victory was the second extra-inning victory of the series for Mississippi State (26-15, 10-8), which swept the series.

Bulldog reliever Ben Bracewell held Missouri (17-21, 6-12) to 1 run on 5 hits and struck out 7 in 6 innings after starter Brandon Woodrum gave up 5 runs on 7 hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Brett Pirtle homered in the first, doubled and scored in the fourth and finished 3 for 6 with 3 runs scored.

After Missouri took a 7-3 lead after the sixth inning, Mississippi State scored one run in the seventh, eighth and two in the ninth to force extra innings.
