2 hurt near Searcy in crash of Cessna

Two people were injured Friday afternoon when a small plane crashed in a field about 2 miles south of Searcy, the White County sheriff’s office reported.

Deputies responded to the crash about 2:50 p.m. and found the single-engine Cessna overturned in a field.

The pilot and a passenger appeared to have minor injuries, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Chief Deputy Phillip Miller.

The pilot was taken to the White County Medical Center to be evaluated.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash. Further details were not immediately available.
