Grigsby Wins At Brute Nationals

Aaron Grigsby of Bentonville earned first-place at the Brute Nationals high school wrestling tournament over the weekend in Independence, Mo.

Grigsby, a two-time Arkansas state champion, defeated Caleb Royal of Rogers in the finals in the 128-pound, 11th-grade division. Grigsby defeated Royal in the state finals earlier this year. Wrestlers were divided by grade and weight class in the event, which included more than 1,400 wrestlers.

Other top high school finishers were Cristian Arredondo, Springdale Har-Ber, second place 133, 12th-grade; Jeff Bizzle, Bentonville, fourth place 148 senior; Taylor Garrigas, Bentonville, fourth place, 218 senior; Ryan Flynn, Bentonville, eighth place, 138 junior; Shane Todd, Bentonville, seventh place, 288 junior.

In addition, Cash Jones of Bentonville finished third in the 104-pound, eighth-grade division; Chance McCrary, fifth place 104 eighth-grade and Cole Wilhite, sixth place, 118 seventh grade. McCrary and Wilhite are both from Rogers.
