Fayetteville

• Katrayus Lane, 23, no address available, was arrested Sunday in connection with felony theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a certain person and parole violation after police found a stolen gold Lexus sport utility van parked on East Oaks Drive. The car was reported stolen April 9 from a Fayetteville address. Lane was being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center. No bond has been set.

• James Johnson, 43, of 1960 Huntsville Road was arrested Sunday in connection with felony terroristic threatening in the first degree and second-degree assault on a family or household member. Johnson was being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center. No bond has been set.

• Victor Ayala, 27, of 1127 Emily Drive was arrested Sunday in connected with felony battery in the second degree, fleeing and refusal to submit to arrest after being stopped for traffic violations. Ayala was released Sunday on $5,000 bond from the Washington County Detention Center.

Washington County Sheriff's Office

• Kevin Stearns, 38, of Kansas, Okla., was arrested Sunday in connection with felony aggravated assault on a family or household member and felony aggravated assault on a certified law enforcement officer along with four misdemeanor counts. Deputies were called to a home near Cane Hill where Stearns was found driving his car into trees on the property. Stearns was being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center. No bond has been set.

West Fork

• Brett Clark, 46, of 21 McGhee St. was arrested Sunday on felony possession of a controlled substance and a parole violation. Clark was being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center. No bond has been set.

• Dylan Parrish reported at 6:34 p.m. Saturday a theft at 406 S. Walton Blvd.

• John Ford reported at 1:19 a.m. Sunday a burglary at 2 Katie Court.

• Gerardo Santillan reported at 4:09 p.m. Sunday a breaking or entering at 4305 S.W. Limestone Ave.

Fayetteville

• Several refrigerators were reported stolen at 12:51 p.m. Monday from 4284 W. Blue Mist Court.

• A theft at 644 W. Maple Ave. was reported at 12:50 p.m. Monday.

Rogers

• A sword and .22-caliber revolver were among items reported stolen from Guest Inn, 601 S. Eighth St., on Sunday.

• A 1994 purple Ford Ranger was reported stolen from 2315 S. Seventh St. on Monday.

• Six handguns were reported lost or stolen Monday after inventory at GI Guns & Ammo, 1311 W. Walnut St.

• A scam involving theft of $5,000 was reported from 1005 S. D St. on Sunday.

Springdale

• Laura Wood reported Monday the theft of a golf cart from 1517 Electric Ave.

• A red Ford pickup reported stolen Sunday in Springdale was recovered abandoned after an accident in Lowell.

Fire

Rogers

• A prescribed burn east of the 600 block of South J Street got out of hand Saturday afternoon. About 50 acres in the area of J and Aetna streets was involved. The Forestry Department helped build fire lines and used a bulldozer to control the fire, according to Rogers fire reports. Firefighters responded to a second call just before 8 p.m. at 105 S. Sarah Lane for remnants of the burn.

• An unpermitted fire was extinguished at 1506 W. Green Acres Drive on Saturday afternoon.

• A brush fire reported at 2100 S. Bellview Road turned out to be grass clippings smoldering in the utility easement.

• A homeowner burning plywood put it out with a garden hose near the intersection of Seventh and Will Rogers streets late Saturday.

• An early morning fire Sunday melted equipment on the prekindergarten playground at Eastside Elementary School, 505 E. New Hope Road. Firefighters found the gate chain cut when they arrived. The playground was in a fenced-in area inside the larger playground, said Jim White, chief operations officer for Rogers School District. White estimated $10,000 in damage to the playground. Replacement equipment will have to be special ordered, White said.

Accident

Rogers

• A 2-year-old girl was hit by a 1998 Dodge pickup near the 1200 block of Sunset Drive, late Friday. The child was taken by relatives to Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville where she was in stable condition before a transfer to Arkansas Children's Hospital, according to police records. The child ran into the road and was hit by a truck. The 50-year-old driver was not cited.
