ROGERS — Planning commissioners will consider Tuesday a conditional use permit for a proposed Walmart Neighborhood Market fueling station at the intersection of Walnut and Eighth streets.
A permit is necessary to operate a gasoline station in any zone, because of the volatility of gasoline, planning officials said.
The conditional use permit is the first step for the proposed market. The large-scale development plan is scheduled to go to the Planning Commission for review on May 6, according to planning officials.
Commissioners are also to consider a conditional use permit for a distillery at 707 S. Eighth St. If the permit is approved, it will be the first distillery in Rogers. There is a microbrewery in Rogers on First Street, but brewing and distilling are different processes, according to the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
The meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday will be in Council Chambers at City Hall, 301 W. Chestnut St. The entrance is on the northeast side of the building. Other agenda items include:
• The large-scale development plan for the 44-acre Rogers Bike Park, a part of the Lake Atalanta renovation plan. The park is located east of Arkansas Street and north of Pine Street. The land is zoned residential duplex patio.
• The final plat of Hidden Acres, a six-lot subdivision on 5.26 acres between Pack Lane and 45th Street. The property is zoned residential single family.
• The preliminary plan for Dixieland Crossing, Phase 3, a 27-lot addition to an existing subdivision bordering Kelley Drive, north of Hudson Road, a residential single family, four units per acre, zone.
