NWACC Professor Revising History

Friday, April 11, 2014

At a public forum at NorthWest Arkansas Community College on March 5, philosophy professor Doug Krueger expressed his opinion there has not been one incident documented where a civilian stopped a shooter and stated "(I am uncomfortable if) somehow we felt our community was the sort of environment we had to hunker down in a bunker mentality."

Mr. Krueger is one of many prime examples of how far out of touch liberal progressive academics are with reality in the United States. I offer the following recent documented incidents where civilians stopped knife-wielding thugs and shooters who were threatening them and others with guns and knives: Elko Daily Free Press, Elko, Nevada, Dec. 3; Dallas News, Texas, Dec. 3; Pine Bluff Commercial, Dumas, Oct. 19; The Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio, Dec. 18; KATC.com, Lafayette, La., Dec. 23; Minneapolis Star Tribune, Minneapolis, Minn., Dec. 19, 2013.

This, parents, is the caliber of education your students are receiving in our public institutions of higher learning: undocumented, progressive, gun-grabbing propaganda and liberal personal opinions not based upon facts. In my opinion there is no doubt why we have the societal problems we have in this country, especially the increasing violence against students in our schools.

NWACC should allow folks with concealed handgun carry licenses to carry concealed firearms on campus for the sake of the students and faculty safety and that of their own. The background checks for licenses are extensive and their carriers have been trained in the use of their firearms and practice frequently at their local ranges.

U.S. colleges and universities have been revising history and indoctrinating students to this type of propaganda since the 1960s. Unfortunately for our country, such pacifist propagandists are in positions of power these days.

Before one opens one's mouth in public, one should do his due diligence on the subject matter they are discussing. Mr. Krueger would better serve the public, NWACC and his students if he would do so. After all, a lot can happen in the 90 seconds it takes for campus security to respond.

I pray that no such incident happens because of the current passivity of the NWACC board and administrators that has reduced the students and instructors to sitting ducks just waiting for tragedy to happen. How many more tragedies are necessary before the liberals wake up and smell the roses.
