SPRINGDALE -- Two people were injured and fuel was spilled from a tractor-trailer Thursday afternoon in an accident in the northbound lanes of Interstate 540 near the Watkins Avenue overpass in Springdale, according to a report from Arkansas State Police.

Kenneth Volleberg, 38, no address available, was driving a 2001 Porsche which the report said hit a concrete wall after colliding with the tractor-trailer. John Holloway, 27, no address available, was driving a 2006 International rig owned by U.S. Foods which hit the guardrail following the collision with the car.

Volleberg and a passenger, Angela Minton, 22, no address available, suffered minor injuries.

The impact with the guardrail punctured the tractor's fuel tank, and 5 gallons of diesel spilled on the grass, according to the report.

The accident was reported at 1:58 p.m. and was still under investigation Thursday.
