Dusty Coleman launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift Midland past Northwest Arkansas in the series opener Sunday.

Coleman’s blast off Naturals reliever Scott Alexander (0-1) came with one out, and Midland reliever Seth Frankoff made the one-run lead stand with his first save.
Raul Alcantara (1-0) earned the win, allowing six hits over 8 innings and 1 earned run. Sugar Ray Marimon was stellar for the Naturals, going six shutout innings.
The Naturals (2-2) led 1-0 on Justin Trapp’s RBI single in the second inning and the lead stood until Coleman’s homer.
The two teams will meet again at 6:30 p.m. today in the second game of the three-game series. The Naturals will return home to Arvest Ballpark on Thursday when they host Frisco to open a six-game home stand.
