Report: Richardson makes Hall of Fame

FAYETTEVILLE - Nolan Richardson, who coached Arkansas to a school-record 369 victories and the 1994 national championship, will be announced as a Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame inductee today, Yahoo Sports reported Sunday, citing an unnamed source.

Richardson, 72, is among10 finalists for the Hall of Fame along with former Arkansas Coach Eddie Sutton; former NBA players Alonzo Mourning, Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, Kevin Johnson and Spencer Haywood; former college coaches Gary Williams and Harley Redin; and the women’s team from Immaculata College, which won three consecutive national championships in the 1970s.

The Yahoo Sports report didn’t say which other finalists will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
