Christian Women

"Beauty in Color" is the theme of the Bella Vista Christian Women's Club brunch from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. in Bella Vista. An all-American style breakfast buffet is served.

The feature will be stained glass artist Don Cowell. The guest speaker is Kathy Coleman of Kansas City, Mo., sharing her story "Are you spectator or ... will you dance?"

The cost is $10.

The organization is nondenominational, and the public is welcome.

Scandinavians

The Scandinavian Club of Northwest Arkansas will meet at 1 p.m. Friday in the Powell Annex of the Springdale Senior Center at Park and Grove streets in Springdale. Everyone is welcome.

Ladies Day Out

The Bella Vista Ladies Day Out will meet at 11 a.m. April 15 at the parking lot across from Town Center's Arvest Bank. Participants will go to Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant for lunch and then shopping afterwards.

Radio Club

The Little Switzerland Amateur Radio Club will meet at noon Thursday at the Eureka Springs Pizza Hut, 2048 E. Van Buren, for the monthly lunch and meeting. Anyone with an interest in amateur radio is welcome.

The club meets at noon on the second Thursday of the month and at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month.

Iota Alpha

Bella Vista Iota Alpha Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi, will meet Wednesday at the First Western Bank community room, 575 Memorial Drive, Bella Vista. Social hour will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the meeting starting at 10 a.m.

At 11 a.m. the group will travel to the Bella Vista Historical Society Museum at 1885 Bella Vista Way, where the Laureate Beta Alpha Chapter will host brunch and a presentation by Roseanna Martin on the accomplishments made by the Bella Vista Historical Society during the past year.

The service project for April will be a monetary donation to Saving Grace, a nonprofit residential facility for young women who age out of foster care.

Laureate Alpha

The Laureate Alpha Mu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi will be entertained by the Laureate Alpha Gamma Chapter at noon Wednesday with a salad luncheon at the Highland Villas Clubhouse.

Laureate Alpha Mu will be hosting the Founders Day luncheon starting at noon April 30 at the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista. Sisters who are eligible from any of the four Bella Vista Beta Sigma Phi chapters will receive their achievement pins, Order of the Rose, Silver Circle or Golden Circle, at this event.

Christian Women

"Hidden Gifts" is the theme of the Christian Women's Connection luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at AQ Chicken House, 1925 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville.

The special feature will be a return visit to Saks Fifth Avenue. Speaker will be Kathy Coleman from Kansas City, Mo. Her topic is "Are you a spectator or ... will you dance?"

Cost of the luncheon is $12. Drop-ins are welcome. The event is sponsored by Stonecroft Ministries.

Embroiderers

Embroiderers Guild of America will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Theodore Episcopal Church in Bella Vista. Anyone interested in needle arts is welcome to join.

German-Americans

Members of the German-American Club of Northwest Arkansas will meet at 2 p.m. April 13 at the Quarter Square Shopping Center, 1400 W. Walnut St. in Rogers. As they plan to celebrate Palm Sunday and the coming Easter, volunteers are asked to come and help decorate the meeting room.

All guests interested in German sociability and traditions are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Aquarium Society

"Extraordinary New Rainbowfish from Papua" will be the topic at the Northwest Arkansas Aquarium Society's Saturday meeting. Rainbowfish expert Gary Lange will speak on his most recent collecting trip to Papau, where they discovered some new rainbowfish species. He will also discuss breeding the Wapoga red laser rainbowfish. The program begins at 7 p.m., but participants are invited to come at 6:30 p.m. to meet with other hobbyists.

The group meets on the second Saturday of every month in the community room of the Rogers Police Station, at the corner of Dixieland and New Hope roads in Rogers. Admission and refreshments are free. There are door prizes for new faces and a mini auction at meeting's end. Everyone is welcome, and the organization is family friendly.

Handweavers

The Northwest Arkansas Handweavers Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Arts Center of the Ozarks, 214 S. Main St. in Springdale. Visitors are welcome.

General Lafayette

Federal Employees

Bella Vista Chapter 1547 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will hold its next monthly meeting at 10 a.m. Friday in the Village Insurance community meeting room at 2838 Bella Vista Way in Bella Vista, across from Sugar Creek Shopping Center.

The speaker will be Frank Anderson, Bella Vista mayor, who will discuss the state of the city in 2014 and issues in the future.

All current and retired federal employees and their spouses are welcome.

Pieces 'N Patches

Pieces 'N Patches will meet Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 1901 S. 26th St. in Rogers. The program will be a trunk show of snowmen quilts presented by Rosie Davis. Refreshments will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the program at 1 p.m. Visitors are welcome.

Altrusa

On May 6, Altrusa of Bentonville-Bella Vista will host its third annual Gals & Games card party at the United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista. Bring games and appetites for fun and food. All proceeds go to fund literacy projects.

Altrusa is a service organization whose main mission is literacy. Members meet at the River Grill restaurant in Bentonville at 11:30 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. All are welcome.

The Lovely Purchase Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 10 a.m. April 14 in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive. Vicki Ronald, executive director of the Literacy Council, will make "The Case for Literacy in Benton County."
