COLLEGE BASKETBALL

UA strength/conditioning coach resigns

David Deets has resigned as the strength and conditioning coach for Arkansas’ basketball team to go into private business, Razorbacks Coach Mike Anderson said Wednesday.

Deets followed Anderson from Missouri to Arkansas.

“David was with me for eight years and did an unbelievable job,” Anderson said. “It’s amazing the things he did.

“All the things I wanted our guys to be, he did a tremendous job. The guys that needed the weight, he put that on them. But more about the explosiveness, flexibility that was what I wanted. The things he did were more basketball specific. As we move forward that’s the type of guy we’re going to get in here.”

Anderson said the opening hasn’t been posted yet but that he expects to have a lot of interest in the job.
