Rogers 3, Springdale High 2

Rogers High beat Springdale High 3-2 in a penalty-kick shootout to win on the road in a 7A/6A-West Conference opening match tied 3-3 at the end of regulation. Dane Rogers, Alex Balderas and Wilson Valdez scored penalty kicks for Rogers.

The Mounties rallied twice to tie the game in regulation. Springdale (5-2-1, 0-1) led 1-0 on Roberto Castro's first-half goal, but Rogers answered by scoring twice in a five-minute span to take a 2-1 lead into intermission. Daniel Rivera and Cobi Rivera scored the Mounties first two goals.

Springdale tied the match on an Erick Batres goal with 15 minutes left in the second half, then took a 3-2 lead on Orsy Gonzalez' penalty kick with 12 minutes remaining. But Rogers scored on a penalty kick by Jorge Zamaron to tie the match up with two minutes left.

Springdale will host Siloam Springs on Friday.

Prep Girls

Fayetteville 1, Rogers Heritage 0

Gabby Foster scored the game's only goal to give the Lady Bulldogs the win over Rogers Heritage in the 7A/6A-West Conference opener for both teams Wednesday night.

Foster's goal came with 11 minutes left in the match on a feed from Kara Tubbs as Fayetteville (7-1, 1-0) picked up the win.

Freshman goalkeeper Grace Cape earned the shutout in net for Fayetteville.

Heritage dropped to 2-4-1 overall and 0-1.

Fayetteville 11, Germantown, Tenn. 2

Connor Shaw led a 10-hit attack for Fayetteville Wednesday with a double and three RBIs and Cody Davenport and Andy Pagnozzi also added two hits and two runs each as the Bulldogs opened played at the USA Classic in Memphis with an easy victory over Germantown High.

Davenport (2-1) also worked five innings on the mound, allowing just two unearned runs on six hits, with one walk and five strikeouts.

The Purple'Dogs (12-2) play again in the winner's bracket of the USA Classic at 7:30 p.m. today.

Springdale Har-Ber 11, Van Buren 0

Van Buren 5, Springdale Har-Ber 3

Springdale Har-Ber defeated Van Buren 11-0 behind Weston Rogers, who pitched a one-hit shutout in six innings. Har-Ber finished with 13 hits after jumping to a 9-0 lead after three innings.

Matt Kimble and Brady Patrick each had doubles for the Wildcats.

Van Buren won the second game 5-3 to gain a split of the doubleheader. Patrick had a triple for the Wildcats (7-3, 1-3).

Farmington 13, Gentry 3
