Police investigating threats found at Rogers schools

Police are investigating a threat found written on a wall at Rogers Heritage High School this morning.

The threat was found shortly after an assembly at the school on Thursday morning.

A second threat was found early Thursday afternoon at Elmwood Middle School. Police are investigating that threat also, Siweic said.

Detectives and a police officer assigned to the school are reviewing security footage and interviewing students, said Keith Foster, police spokesman.

Foster described the threat as non-specific, saying it did not mention harm to any particular person by any particular method.

Parents were notified about the threat, said Ashley Kelley Siwiec, district spokeswoman. Police have asked the district not to disclose details that could hinder the investigation.

“We take this threat very seriously. We are working with the Rogers Police Department to have additional police on campus and to throughly investigate the threat,” she said.
