HOT SPOTS

ARKANSAS RIVER (LITTLE ROCK POOL) Crappie fishing is excellent using white/chartreuse jigs and chartreuse twister tails on 1/8-ounce jigheads around brush. Bass fishing is excellent in the backwaters and on jetty points using Texas-rigged lizards and Zoom Brush Hogs. Whitebass fishing is excellent using chartreuse twintailed jigs and spoons fished below Murray Lock and Dam. Catfishing is excellent using skipjack, shad, sunfish and minnows.

ARKANSAS RIVER (MAUMELLE POOL) Crappie fishing is excellent in backwaters using pink minnows, red/chartreuse jigs and BeetleSpins. Bass fishing is excellent using shad-colored spinnerbaits and chartreuse/black shallow-diving crankbaits in backwater areas. Catfishing is excellent using minnows, chicken hearts, livers and worms.

LAKE CONWAY Bass fishing is excellent using soft-plastic worms, spinnerbaits, crankbaits and Flukes fished around bedding areas. Bream are biting well on redworms and crickets near the banks. Crappie are starting to spawn, and they are biting well at night on yo-yos baited with minnows. Catfishing is excellent using chicken livers and shrimp in the day and at night on yo-yos baited with prepared bait.

LAKE DARDANELLE Some bass and crappie are moving up for the spawn and can be caught 1-6 feet deep. Bass are hitting jigs, spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits. Crappie have been hitting jigs and minnows. Stripers are biting well on bucktailed jigs, crankbaits and threeinch grubs, and white bass fishing has been good using jigs, tailspinners and small crankbaits. Bream are biting fairly well on crickets and worms fished around stumps. Catfish are being caught on cut skipjack and green sunfish.

LAKE MAUMELLE Largemouth bass fishing is excellent using jigs and jerkbaits fished around grass in 5-8 feet of water. Spotted bass are 5-10 feet deep and are being caught on jigs and shaky head worms. Limits of white bass are coming in on Roostertails, crappie jigs and minnows. Crappie are biting well on brightly colored jigs fished around grass 1-5 feet deep. Bream fishing is excellent 5-10 feet deep using live worms and crickets.
