A Bella Vista man was sentenced to 10 years and one month in prison for receipt of child pornography, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Conner Eldridge.

Nicholar Harper, 27, will also have to pay a $20,000 fine and will be subject to 20 years of supervised release. Investigators searching his computer found 3,600 images of child pornography, according to the news release.

“This case reinforces the importance of safeguarding our personal computers in order to keep sexual predators such as this defendant from taking

advantage of them and committing this type of horrendous act that victimizes our innocent children," Eldridge said in the news release. "Every time a video or image involving sexual abuse of children is downloaded or viewed, those children are re-victimized."
