Latino group lauds area leaders

Groups thank VIPs

More than 300 guests gathered at the 15th annual Lideres de Corazon on Sept. 19 to help ALPFA - Association of Latino Professionals as they lauded area leaders at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers.

The national organization, originallychartered as the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, is now the largest Latino association for business professionals with morethan 15,000 members.

Down the road from the Hammons Center at Ruth’s Chris Steak House that same night, Charity Challenge of Champions was hosting a VIP reception for sponsors of the five-day fundraiser that consists of social events and tennis and golf tournaments.

Proceeds from the 22nd annual event help support The Arkansas Crisis Center and The Crisis Center Foundation.

Those championing the challenge included Matt Kistler, Beth and Tregg Brown, Charlotte and Jerry Hudlow, Stu Todd, Jennifer Sharp, Shannon Andrews, Gini Algiers, Robert Taylor and Jenni Kirstein.

Jeannie Fleeman opened her Rogers home Tuesday evening to help Hope Cancer Resources thank supporters of the Bill Fleeman Gentlemen of Distinction fundraiser, slated for Oct. 4 at the Hammons Center.

The 10th annual fashion show and awards presentation helps the nonprofit organization provide support services for cancer patients in Benton, Carroll, Madison and Washington counties. Services include community cancer prevention education, prescription assistance, tobacco cessation and transportation.

Those helping the fashion show fund services included honorary hosts Nancy and Dick Trammel, Melissa and Todd Fleeman, Thad Beck, Debi and Mike Thurow, Robyn and Donny Hubbard, Hannah Raleigh and Caleb Pennington, Becky and Rob Brothers, Anne and Jack Butt, Denise Garner, Diana and Kent Eikenberry, Philip Taldo and Susan and Tony Hui, the 2013 Gentleman of Distinction Award winner.
