BENTONVILLE — The city compost facility will give away compost and wood mulch Oct. 1-5.
Medium grade, unscreened compost and wood mulch will be available during normal facility hours. The compost facility is at 2000 N.W. A St. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, according to a news release.
A skid-steer loader and operator will be available to load pickups and trailers. A wheel loader and operator will be available to load larger vehicles. A $20 loading fee will be charged for loading more than four cubic yards at one time, according to the release.
Only vehicles 108 inches tall or less can be loaded with compost facility equipment. Those wanting quantities less than half of a cubic yard or that have no pickup or trailer will need to bring their own containers and shovels.
Distribution will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.
