Vernon and Ida Mathews of Little Rock will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a reception at the home of their daughter. The couple were married Sept. 28, 1943. She is the former Ida Watson and retired from Sears. He retired from the Arkansas Gazette. They are the parents of Phyllis Mathews Barrier of Little Rock.
