Police: Man Stole 77 Tire Rims

FAYETTEVILLE — A Winslow man was arrested Thursday after he admitted stealing 77 tire rims from an auto salvage yard, according to police.

Gregory Hall, 25, of 330 Maple, faces felony charges in connection with commercial burglary and theft of property. He also faces a possible parole violation.

Police investigated a burglary report Monday at U.S. 62 Auto Salvage Sales, 3595 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

According to an arrest report, the owner of the business said 142 rims, worth $8,890, were taken from the property and sold for scrap metal at USA Metal Recycling in Fayetteville and Lowell.

Police said they identified 77 rims from the salvage yard at USA Metal in Fayetteville, 1400 S. Warford Drive. The rims recovered are worth $4,875, according to the report.

Hall loaded the rims into his truck and made four trips to USA Metal and Recycling in Fayetteville and Lowell, according to the report.

Hall was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held without bond Friday.
