Bentonville School Election Certified

BENTONVILLE — The results of Bentonville’s Sept. 17 school election were certified Friday, and the end result didn't change.

The Election Commission certified the results of the election in which voters approved a 2.9-mill tax increase to pay for a second high school.

The election night results showed the measure passed by a vote of 8,132 in favor and 3,429 against. Kim Dennison, election coordinator, said the results certified Friday included the votes of three provisional ballots, all of which were in favor of the millage increase.

Michael Poore, Bentonville school superintendent, attended Friday’s meeting and thanked the Election Commission, the commission staff and poll workers for their efforts in directing the election. John Brown Jr. commission chairman, said the credit should go to the staff and poll workers.
