Search for suspect expands in N.Y.

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The search for a man wanted in a fatal workplace shooting stretched to the northern New York City suburbs Thursday as police found the getaway car, but not the suspect.

Authorities said they were considering all possibilities for the whereabouts of SangHo Kim of Queens, including that he may have killed himself or fled the region.

Kim’s white sport utility vehicle was found at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sandy Beach Park in Cold Spring, about 50 miles north of New York City. The heavily wooded area is not far from the Hudson River and close to a commuter railroad station.

Authorities said the63-year-old suspect walked into a room where the owner and employees of the Long Island light-fixture import business were standing and opened fire about 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Kim was reported to have fled in the direction of the nearby Roosevelt Field mall, touching off lockdowns of businesses in and near the mall and of nearby schools.
