Moms on the Farm tour set for Oct. 7
A group of female faculty and staff from the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture and the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the UA will offer the third annual Moms on the Farm tour from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 7.
The tour includes trips to beef, poultry and dairy farms.
Lunch will be provided, and the Arkansas Cattlewomen will offer cooking demonstrations.
The tour begins at the Pauline Whitaker Arena in Fayetteville. The tour is free, but space is limited.

Illinois River Salon Art to be shown
The Illinois River Watershed Partnership and the Heart of America Artists Association will host the 2013 Illinois River Salon Art Exhibition Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Compton Gardens in Bentonville.
The inaugural, juried contest features artwork celebrating the beauty of the Illinois River Watershed. A reception featuring the artists will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Compton Gardens.
The winning pieces will also be displayed Oct. 3-4 at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville during the Restoration of Our Rivers Conference.
