BASKETBALL Water damage on Walton Arena court

Walton Arena’s court is undergoing repairs for water damage this week and isn’t available for use by Arkansas’ men’s or women’s basketball players.

“Last Friday the court experienced infiltration on some portions of the playing floor and areas surrounding the playing floor following heavy rains overnight,” Kevin Trainor, Arkansas’ associate director of public relations, said in an email. “Currently and throughout the remainder of this week the floor will be unavailable while the athletic department works to remove any excess moisture and completes a full assessment of any potential long-term damage to the playing surface.”

Arkansas players are working out at the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Building on campus while the Walton Arena court undergoes repairs.

The men’s and women’s teams will begin practices in early October.
