WHAT: Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Crunch granola bars
STATS: Each pack of two bars (five packs per box) contains 190 calories and 9 fat, 28 carbohydrate, 6 fiber and 3 protein grams. We found them at Kroger, 8415 W. Markham St., Little Rock. More information at kelloggs.com.
THE SKINNY: Granola bars were crunchy. Then they were chewy. Then they were replaced by cereal bars, yogurt bars and then Greek yogurt bars.
Now they are back and crunchy again.
We reviewed Nutri-Grain’s new and rather tasty Fruit Crunch line (available in Apple Cobbler and Strawberry Parfait). And then we noticed new flavors: Toffee Crunch and Chocolatey Crunch. Both varieties have packs of two thin, crunchy whole-grain oats bars studded with sweet bits (either toffee or chocolate chips) and smeared with a layer of chocolate.
We’re glad such old-fashioned bars are new again.
