Pop star Rihanna spent a weekend at the beach in Thailand, leaving behind a trail of racy tweets and incriminating Instagram photographs that led police to arrest two people for purportedly peddling protected primates. On a break from her Diamonds World Tour, Rihanna stopped in Thailand to visit the island of Phuket, where she befriended some local wildlife. She posted a link on Twitter to an Instagram photo that showed her in sunglasses snuggling up to a furry primate called the slow loris and tweeted Friday: “Look who was talkin dirty to me!” The slow loris, a squirrel-like animal with big eyes, is native to Southeast Asia and is listed as a protected species. Police confiscated two lorises and arrested a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy.
Miley Cyrus was a crowd favorite at the iHeartRadio music festival day event Saturday in Las Vegas. Before she hit the stage, the crowd of a few hundred chanted: “Miley!
Miley! Miley!” Her four-song set opened with the anthemic “We Can’t Stop,” where people onstage were dressed in flower, mushroom and rainbow costumes. She gyrated and slapped a dwarf-sized dancer’s butt onstage. She followed the colorful performance with “Party In the USA.” But it was her emotional rendition of “Wrecking Ball” that was her set’s highlight. Cyrus’ mascara was running as she left the stage after the song, and the performance comes days after she announced she was no longer engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus broke a record with the debut of the song’s provocative video, which features her in the nude. It became the fastest music video to reach 100 million views on the website Vevo.
